Pet of the Month: Sadie
Sadie is an 8 year old English Foxhound. She has a protein-losing nephropathy (PLN) and suffers from skin allergies. Protein-losing nephropathy is a specific kind of kidney ailment that usually affects large-breed dogs, leading to the seepage of blood proteins into the urine. This disease often goes undiagnosed and can lead to advanced kidney disease. Sadie is being treated with Enalapril and Apoquel which are medications used to control her PLN and allergies, respectively. She was diagnosed early and is doing well! We know Sadie doesn’t like to take her pills but are happy that she is taking them well for her owners.
